ERN Is Not a Shortcut
Lately, I’ve seen a handful of comments, messages, and posts that made me realize something needs to be said clearly. Some people are frustrated that every opportunity posted through ERN isn’t a massive A-list arena tour, and I get it. That’s what everyone wants. But that reaction misses the entire point of what this platform is and what it was built to do.
ERN was never meant to be a shortcut to the top.
Paying for a membership doesn’t mean you get handed a laminate and a stadium gig. That’s not how this industry works and honestly, it never has.
What ERN is about is access.
Access to opportunities.
Access to people.
Access to better information, higher standards, and a clearer path forward.
Some of the gigs posted here will be major tours. Some won’t be.
Both matter because the truth is, most careers in this business aren’t built in arenas they’re built in clubs, theaters, fly dates, one-offs, and the jobs that don’t look glamorous on paper.
That’s where reputations are made.
That’s where people learn how to actually do the job.
That’s where trust is built.
And trust is what gets you the call when the bigger opportunities do come around.
This Is Bigger Than Job Posts
If all ERN ever was is a place to scroll job listings, then yeah it would be pretty easy to misunderstand it, but that’s not what we’re building. We’re building a professional development platform. That means real opportunities to grow not just find work.
We’re starting with in-person meetups, beginning in Nashville, with more to come. These are about connection, conversation, and building real relationships not just swapping résumés online.
We’re building mentorship and coaching.
We’re creating education around the things nobody teaches you in this industry how to communicate professionally, how to manage your career, how to handle money on the road, how to take care of your mental health, and how to build something that actually lasts; because getting the gig is only part of it.
Keeping the gig and building a sustainable career is where most people struggle. That’s the gap ERN is designed to fill.
The Standard
There’s one more thing that needs to be clear.
ERN is not going to become a space for negativity, entitlement, or tearing people down. If we’re serious about professionalism, then it has to start with how we think and how we communicate. Nobody is above paying their dues. Nobody is owed a high-level gig. Nobody builds a career by skipping steps.
Careers are built by showing up, doing the work, earning trust, and consistently proving that you belong in the room.
That’s the standard. And that’s the culture we’re protecting here.
If This Resonates…
If you’re looking for a place to grow, to connect, and to build a real career in this industry, welcome.
If you’re looking for a shortcut, this probably isn’t your place.
